Product/Whiteboard

Draw it out, together.

The rest of the platform is built on structured records. The whiteboard is the place to think out loud — process sketches, floor-plan scribbles, "here's how this routing actually flows" diagrams. A real-time canvas where the whole team draws at once, and the board is still there next session.

The editor

A canvas the whole team draws on at once.

Built on Excalidraw's hand-drawn surface and wired for real time. Everyone sees everyone else's cursor, edits stream shape by shape, and a sync indicator tells you exactly where your changes stand. Viewers get a read-only board; editors get the full toolkit.

The picker

A wall of real canvases, not a list of files.

Every board renders its own thumbnail, so the picker reads like a wall of sketches. A live pill shows who's looking right now. Filter by scope — try Mine, Shared or Starred.

Real-time, the hard parts done

Many hands, one canvas, no clobbering.

Multi-user editing is easy to demo and hard to get right. Bulk tracks every shape individually, so two people drawing at once never overwrite each other — and a board that fell behind catches up on its own.

Per-element sync

Each shape commits as its own versioned change in an idempotent batch — drag one box and only that box updates, not the whole document.

version · nonce · batch

Conflict-aware

Newer wins; a stale edit is rejected and the author sees a quiet "another user changed this shape" — never a silent overwrite.

newer wins · reported

Gap recovery

Fall too far behind — a closed laptop, a flaky link — and the server sends a fresh snapshot to re-base you. No half-synced mess.

snapshot re-base

Cursors and the "who's here" avatar stack broadcast through the same presence layer the rest of the platform uses, on a 15-second heartbeat. Embedded images upload to storage and drop out of the saved document, so a board never bloats past its limit.

Shape libraries

Toggle in the kits you actually draw with.

Seven libraries snap into the editor's panel. Turn on what a board needs — a flowchart kit for routing, sticky notes for a retro, org-chart blocks for a reshuffle. Your selection is remembered for next time.

Sharing & access

The owner decides who gets in.

A whiteboard is workspace-wide but access-controlled per board. The creator owns it; everyone else is added by name as a viewer or an editor. No share, no entry — the board shows in the picker behind a lock, but won't open.

Three levels

Owner, editor, viewer

The owner can rename, share, transfer and delete. Editors draw and save. Viewers get a read-only canvas with a "view only" banner.

  • Owner — full control, always
  • Editor — draw & autosave
  • Viewer — read-only canvas
Manage access

Add by name, transfer at will

A searchable picker adds teammates; each row toggles viewer or editor. Only the original owner can hand the board to someone else.

  • No share = locked tile, can't open
  • Transfer ownership, confirmed
  • Soft delete & restore by owner
You always know where you stand

One indicator, five honest states.

A single coloured dot in the corner tells the truth about your edits — saved, in flight, merging, in conflict, or offline. No guessing whether your work made it.

Synced

Everything committed and live for everyone on the board.

Saving…

Your latest edits are in flight to the server.

Merging…

Reconciling your changes with a teammate's.

Conflict

A shape changed under you — newer wins, you're told which.

Offline

The link dropped; edits queue and sync when it's back.

At a glance

A drawing surface, done properly.
