Completed manufacturing example

A proposed bracket change moves an edge clearance from 2 mm to 3 mm. The pack identifies the drawing, BOM and inspection records affected, along with 40 stock parts and 100 work-in-progress parts needing disposition.

Approval, effectivity and implementation are different states. Keep the proposal open until release, old-stock decisions and first-off acceptance have evidence. Define the first affected order or lot rather than relying on an ambiguous date alone.

When to use this template

How to use it

  1. Describe the proposal and affected revisions before seeking approval.
  2. Define an unambiguous effectivity boundary and disposition for stock, WIP and open orders.
  3. Record approval separately from release and implementation. Verify each changed record and the first affected output before closure.
