Time-study worksheetObserve repeatable elements in seconds, retain abnormal-cycle evidence and compare with takt.Manufacturing schedule
Compare job load with each resource’s net shift capacity before promising a finish.

What it's for
Compare job load with each resource’s net shift capacity before promising a finish.
What you can download
Available files: PDF, Excel. Each PDF includes the blank form first, a fictional completed example and instructions. The Excel workbook includes an unused template and a separate completed example, with labelled inputs, calculation cells and print settings. Completed manufacturing example
Two drilling jobs need 330 and 140 minutes including setup. A 480-minute shift with 60 minutes of non-working time has 420 minutes available. The 470-minute load therefore exceeds capacity by 50 minutes.
The example identifies 50 minutes to allocate to the next shift. It does not invent a finish promise: material, labour and job dependencies still need review. Record split allocations explicitly and charge setup only where it occurs.
When to use this template
A manual load plan, not a finite-capacity optimiser or promise of automatic scheduling.

How to use it
- Enter a separate capacity row for each shared resource and shift. Net time excludes breaks and planned non-working periods.
- Load equals setup minutes plus quantity times cycle minutes. Sum every job using the same resource/shift.
- Split jobs crossing a shift into explicit allocations; charge setup only where it occurs. Review materials, people and dependencies separately.
Key features
- Job and resource schedule
- Capacity by resource and shift
Ideal for
- Production planners making a manual load and capacity plan
Common uses
- Comparing planned jobs against a shared resource's shift capacity
